SUNSHINE NEWS... Happy Birthday and anniversary to all of you that have September celebrations!
Meeting Summary: Breakfast and Board meeting was held on Sept 1st. Next Board meeting is Tuesday October 6th at 8am at the Wagner. All are welcome.
Sept 8th - Program was an update from Jessica Bacher from Yates County Chamber of Commerce.
Sept 15th - Program was from Emily and Alyssa from the Yates County Public Health Department.
Community event on Saturday September 19 - Community event at Cascade Mills to support Friends of the Outlet from 1 - 4pm. We will have a tent and be selling tickets for our chair raffle. Stop and support us. It would be great to see you.
What else in August/September?
FUNDRAISER is wrapping up soon- We are raffling two beautiful foldable chairs from Countryside Woodworking and thank you to the committee for all the work! The flyer was sent by email last month with a QR code that people can use to buy tickets with VENMO and we expect your help (at least 3 tickets per member). We are very short of our goal of $4000! About 50% so far.
We had a very busy August supporting Camp Onseyawa and Hope Walk and trying to be active within our community while raising needed funds! We raised about $1200 at the Oak Hill chicken BBQ!
September 11th - Thanks to Alicia Slate for learning about an opportunity to get free books to use for our literacy project where we give away books to elementary age children and families throughout the year. Several Rotarians and Keith Prather transported many boxes of books to a storage area at the plaza (thank you to Rotarian Steve Carlson and Ray Spencer for setting that up). OPPORTUNITY to help sort those on Tuesday Sept 29th at noon - can you help?
SOCIAL event on Thursday Sept 24!! Hosted by the Kinseys who live at 3395 E Sherman Hollow Rd. Beginning at 6:30 (get there before sunset to see the beautiful view over Mirror Pond) and bring a dessert to share. ROTARY FUN and FELLOWSHIP.
Saturday 9/26 -District Literacy meeting at Clifton Springs from 9am to noon. Interested? Contact Stacy who is going and will drive to Clifton Springs.
NO LUNCH MEETINGS again until October 13th. Breakfast meeting 10/6.
OCTOBER 3rd - Fall Festival in Penn Yan. We are manning the beer garden and selling raffle tickets (THE DRAWING IS TODAY) so please sign up to help or stop to support the Penn Yan business community. Times are 11am - 4pm I believe. An hour or two would be a big help and it would be great to see you.
